I wake up in the morning, get ready to face the day. I've only got 24 hours, I can't let them slip away. But then I walk outside my door and much to my surprise, I found myself staring into a pair of luscious big blue eyes. Blond hair and red lipstick, I just can't walk away. I try to walk in the other direction, and stay away from her games. But then she calls my name: "Ooh yeah, I know a trick to make you go crazy. Ooh yeah, I know a way to make you lose your mind. Ooh yeah, I'll have you calling me up on the daily. Ooh yeah, wasting every minute of your time." And now everywhere I go, I see white girls by the score. White girls in the hallway, white girls by the door. White girls wearing sandals, white girls dressed in red. White girls running through my mind when I'm lying in my featherbed. And when I see these white girls my heart stops (and my brain melts). They're crowding out my field of vision, and they all look the same. And they all sing this refrain: "Ooh yeah, I know a trick to make you go crazy. Ooh yeah, I know a way to make you lose your mind. Ooh yeah, I'll have you calling me up on the daily. Ooh yeah, wasting every minute of your time." Now everywhere I go, this is what I see: girls of the caucasian persuasion and they're all making eyes at me. I tell myself I'm independent. I tell myself I work alone. I spent three months chasing white girls and now "my own summer" is gone. I just can't seem to help it. They've got a hold on me. I try to walk in the other direction, but they all look the same and they're screaming out my name.

Taking a bit of a left turn, but still sticking to the retro 80s style--only this time, it's Prince and Peter Gabriel joining forces to do some Scritti Pollitti worship. Funky piano, synths, and guitar layered over a danceable beat, along with a catchy chorus full of "ooh yeahs."

This was a difficult song for me to sing. Think you can do it better? Download the instrumental and sing along yourself.

For real, I think this song would be better in the hands of another artist (it's too high pitched and "R&B" for my voice) so if you are interested in covering it, contact me.
