I Don't Want This Heartbreak to End: Collected Works 2014-2018

3am. Back and forth walking in my apartment. Bon Iver and Winking Owl can't drown my disappointment. I can't sleep--put on a film---pour myself some tea and try and forget everything you said to me. Words that you spoke are still ringing in my ear. "I will never love you" is the last thing I hear. 1am. Snow and Ice. Walking back from your apartment. I know I'm gonna die where College crosses President. It's too late. My time has come. I've run out of luck. I had my headphones in; I never saw the ten-ton truck when it hit me. Self-titled album still ringing in my ears. "Still alive for your love" is the last song I head. (Cue sound of truck hitting body). Well that escalated quickly. Didn't meant to be so melodramatic, but I just lost my last best hope again. 4am. Still can't sleep. Driving by your apartment. I know I'm gonna die where College crosses President. But even if I die tonight I won't be disappointed. This special kind of sadness is all I've ever wanted.

about

A special collection of free goodies from Nick House and the Lapsed Catholics including all the acoustic singles, a special live set, and rare demos. Many of these songs have been released before, but now they are in one place and absolutely free.

Track one is my newest and best recording, though the songs dates back to 2015. I recorded it at my aunt's house while dogsitting.

Tracks two and three were recorded at Wheaton College as part of a student music compilation. Christian Kim contributes to "Pretty Girl from Jefferson County"; you can find his solo work on Spotify. It was also part of an EP I released on Noisetrade called "Giantism."

Tracks 4-6 were recorded at one of the many open mics I played during college. See if you can catch the musical shoutout to blink-182 at the end of "The Only One."

Tracks 7-13 are demos I recorded around 2015-2017. I cannot vouch for the qualities of these recordings. I also have no one to blame but myself for the weird high-pitched voice I decided to sing in on some of them.

Track 14 was a song I wrote for the cinematic classic Senior Class Film. I starred in it alongside Chloe Bennet from Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Dan "The Man" Barnhart sings the song in the movie. My performance here is not Oscar-worthy.

Track 15 is one of the first things I ever made with a DAW.
